Create Institution Landing Pages: Information

An institution can create a customized, branded Transferology® landing page to help promote the college or university to prospective students. When navigating to Transferology through the institution's referral link or badge, students will see the customized page (assuming it is published) instead of the CollegeSource-branded homepage. This article within the Create Institution Landing Pages: An Overview Guide explains how School Admins can customize information about the institution for the landing page.

The section on information contains four customizable areas to help students get better acquainted with the college or university.

Description

School Admins will need to provide a description of the institution.

  1. Navigate to the Description field.
  2. Where it says About this institution... enter a paragraph that describes the college or university.
    • Text is limited to 250 characters.
Example of a customized description. Text reads: COLLEGESOURCE UNIVERSITY (SH) is home to over 120 majors and 35 graduate programs. Located in Minnesota, it prepares students to be lifelong learners, for further enrollment in graduate programs, and to succeed in the workforce.

  1. Select the Preview Changes button at the top of the template to see how selections appear on the landing page.
  2. Select Save Changes to save work on the landing page.
    • A pop-up will appear noting that the user is about to make changes to the landing page for the institution. Doing so will make these changes visible to the public if the landing page has been published. Make sure to review changes via the Preview Changes button.
      • Select Yes to proceed with saving changes.
      • A confirmation will appear indicating that changes have been saved.

Custom URL

School Admins will need to add a custom URL to display under the description. When the user hovers the mouse or keyboard over click here, the URL will additionally appear within a tooltip.

Once click here is selected, a pop-up will appear notifying the student that a new tab or window is about to open that will navigate the user away from Transferology®. The user must select Yes to continue.

To enter a URL:

  1. Navigate to the Custom URL field.
  2. Enter a URL within an .edu or any URL that contains a college or university domain.
    • Institutions wishing to provide a URL outside of these requirements will need to contact CollegeSource for consideration.
  3. Select the Preview Changes button at the top of the template to see how selections appear on the landing page.
  4. Select Save Changes to save work on the landing page.
    • A pop-up will appear noting that the user is about to make changes to the landing page for the institution. Doing so will make these changes visible to the public if the landing page has been published. Make sure to review changes via the Preview Changes button.
      • Select Yes to proceed with saving changes.
      • A confirmation will appear indicating that changes have been saved.

Credit Awards

Institutions can use the below checkboxes within the editor to communicate to students that the institution awards credit for standardized exams, military learning experiences, or life learning experiences.

Text reads: Credit Awards. Check these b oxes if your institution awards credit for any of the following learning experiences. There are three boxes: Standardized Exams, Military Learning Experiences, and Life Learning Experiences.

By default, if none of the checkboxes are marked, at the top of the institution landing page, students will see the following text: See how your courses transfer to (INSTITUTION NAME).

Text reads: See how your courses transfer to CollegeSource University (SH).

A similar message appears under the institution header image, indicating that the institution has partnered with Transferology® to show students how the institution will award credit for transferrable courses.

Lastly, under the three easy steps, the following text will display under step 2:

Step 2 reads: Add courses. Add the college courses you have taken (or plan to take) to your My Courses list.

To communicate the types of learning experiences for which credit is awarded:

  1. Enable the checkmark(s) to the left of the learning experience(s).
  2. Select the Preview Changes button at the top of the template to see how selections will appear on the landing page.
  3. Select Save Changes to save work on the landing page.
    • A pop-up will appear noting that the user is about to make changes to the landing page for the institution. Doing so will make these changes visible to the public if the landing page has been published. Make sure to review changes via the Preview Changes button.
      • Select Yes to proceed with saving changes.
      • A confirmation will appear indicating that changes have been saved.

For reference, the following messages will appear on the page depending on the selection(s) made.

By default, the institution's URL and the Transfer Information, Admission Information, Financial Aid Information, Registration, and Admissions Application information links within the School Profile will display as student transfer resources towards the bottom of the landing page. When the user hovers the mouse or keyboard over the field name, the URL will additionally appear within a tooltip.

Once selected, a pop-up will appear notifying the student that a new tab or window is about to open that will navigate the user away from Transferology®. The user must select Yes to continue.

The links from within the School Profile will auto-populate within the Information Links section of the Institution Template Editor. Institutions can update the links (with the exception of the school website, which is set by CollegeSource) within the editor or within the Information Links section of the School Profile. Updating the information links via the Institution Template Editor will update them within the School Profile and vice versa.

To update the information links within the editor:

  1. Navigate to Information Links.
