Course Bundles: View Replacement Bundle Matches

Course Bundles are grouped collections of Courses, Standardized Exams, Military Credits, and program requirements within Transferology® Lab. These can be used by college staff to provide students with more efficient advisements and to research transfer scenarios. Pre-named bundles can be automatically created from advising & recruiting leads. This article provides an overview of how to search for and view Replacement bundle matches.

Articles in this series:

To start:

  1. Go to Advising & Recruiting.
  2. Select Course Bundles.
  3. Select the Replacement tab.
    • By default, the Transfer tab will be selected.

Any previously saved bundles will populate the table in hyperlinked text format.

See Course Bundles: Create Replacement Bundles for an overview of how to add Courses and/or Requirement Categories to a Replacement Course Bundle. Once the Course List is complete, follow the steps below to see how coursework may transfer back to the school currently being attended.

1. Select Search for Matches.

2. The Schools Found page will appear.

  • Scroll through the results.
    • The number of Matches found at each institution will be noted.
      • For example, 2 of 2 Match means 2 Matches were found to the 2 Courses or Requirement Categories in the Course List.
        • If no Matches are found, a message will appear noting this. It will instruct the user to Add more courses and try again.
  • Use the Sort and Filter options to the right to narrow results to specific needs/preferences.
  • Select the Return to the top button at the end of the Match results to quickly navigate back to the top of the list.

If any adjustments are needed to the courses in the Replacement bundle, select + Add More Courses to return to the previous screen:

3. Select the # of Matches next the school name to view the Match results:

The name of the tabs that appear will depend on whether Course or Requirement Categories were used in the Course List and whether Matches were found.

Examples:

  • If matches were found to both Courses and Requirement Categories, these tabs will be titled (Number of) Course Match and (Number of) Requirement Category Match.
  • If matches were found to Courses but not Requirement Categories, these tabs will be titled (Number of) Course Matches and (Number of) No Match.
  • If matches were found to some Courses and Requirement Categories but not others, three tabs will appear - (Number of) Course Matches, (Number of) Requirement Category Matches, and (Number of) No Matches.

Course Matches

Matches indicates how courses may transfer (assuming they are completed with passing grades).

In the example below (select image for a larger view), 1 Course Match has been found to CollegeSource University's MATH140. For credit for MATH140 College Algebra at CollegeSource University, students can take MATH1100 at the transfer institution.

  • Select the underlined Course to view its description, or select Expand all course descriptions.
  • Select the information icon to view notes, or select Expand all notes

Requirement Category Matches

In the example below, 1 Requirement Category Match has been found for the CollegeSource University Liberal Education - Global Perspectives requirement.

To view courses that meet requirements:

  1. Select the underlined Requirement Category Name.
    • In this case, Liberal Education - Global Perspectives.
  2. A grid will appear, displaying the course(s) to take at the transfer institution to gain credit for the Requirement.
    • Use the filter to look at results for a particular subject at the home institution.

Since Requirement Category Names are linked to institutions' ACourses, Alt Courses, and/or IFlags, it will be important for the person reviewing Replacement Course Bundles to have a knowledge of these conventions.

In the example below, the results communicate that if ECON1100 is taken at the transfer institution, the student can receive credit within the Liberal Education - Global Perspectives requirement at CollegeSource University. A knowledge of CollegeSource University's Alt Course conventions also indicates that this course would transfer as an ECON1xx-level elective additionally counting towards the Social Science Liberal Education requirement.

No Matches

The Replacement Course(s) or Requirement Category for which no matches are found will be displayed on the (Number of) No Matches tab.
