The decision to edit or delete Crosswalk Mappings should be made carefully. There may be circumstances where doing so is warranted; however, it is important to understand the ramifications of doing so and the effects such actions will have on Match results.

Edit a Crosswalk Mapping

To edit a mapping:

  1. Go to Rule Management.
  2. Select Crosswalk Mappings.
  3. Select the Standardized Exams tab.
  4. Within the Exam Type(s) drop-down menu, select an examination type.
  5. Within the Filter drop-down menu, select Manually Entered Mappings
  6. Under Courses from (Institution Name), find the exam whose mapping needs to be modified.
    • Search by course number/title if desired.
  7. To the right of the course code, under Available Actions, select Update Mapping (the pencil icon).

In this example, US HIST is the source course used in CollegeSource University's transfer rule. This course was mapped to the Transferology Equivalent AP 13 in error; the mapping will be edited so that AP 07 is the Transferology Equivalent.

  1. The Mapping Selection pop-up will appear. Within the pop-up is a list of all the Advanced Placement examinations available in Transferology. Find the equivalent Transferology source or send course within this list.

  1. Select Apply.

  1. A pop-up notification will indicate that the alias has been updated:

The mapped course will continue to display under Manually Entered Mappings. Students can find Matches to the new Transferology Equivalent upon the next equivalency upload.

Colleges have the option to edit Existing Mappings. Courses appearing within the Has Existing Mappings filter use the Transferology source course. Before editing these mappings, colleges should carefully consider whether adjusting the transfer rule is more appropriate. The ramifications of either action and the effect on Match results should also be weighed.

Delete a Mapping

To delete a mapping:

  1. Go to Rule Management.

    • Search by course number/title if desired.
  7. To the right of the course code, under Available Actions, select Remove Mapping (the trash can icon).

  1. A pop-up notification will indicate the alias has been removed:
