What is Transferology?

Transferology® is a nationwide transfer network and recruiting tool that provides students with information on where and how their college credits will transfer. The Transferology® Lab is an extension of Transferology designed to support the needs of staff at colleges and universities that are part of the network. Transferology

Transferology is a nationwide network designed to help students explore their college transfer options. It has two paths:

1. Students can add courses, exams, and military learning experiences to the Will My Courses Transfer? path to get immediate answers about how institutions in the network will accept them for transfer.
2. Students interested in taking classes at another institution over the summer or during a January term can use the Find a Replacement Course path to find courses that can be transferred back to the school currently being attended.

Transferology Lab

Transferology Lab is a staff-facing application. In the Lab, users review and manage student inquiries, access advising resources like equivalency lookups, and optimize the institution's transfer-friendliness by fine-tuning equivalency and profile data.

Why Do Institutions Use Transferology?

Student Benefit

Transferology is free to students. After creating an account, students can enter courses and see how they transfer to over 400 schools across the country. They can view a school's profile and reach out to request advising, a campus visit, admission, financial aid information, or Veteran resources. Students can learn what programs a school offers, and in some instances, apply their coursework to a program to see how it would fulfill degree requirements. 

Institution Benefit

Transferology expands schools' outreach. It gives schools a means of reaching students, parents, and families with information about how courses have been evaluated for transfer. Since Transferology is a network, it helps colleges and universities increase awareness of the institution and expand reach to students who are not familiar with the school. Recruiting just one transfer student with Transferology can more than justify the entire year's subscription.

Transferology saves staff time spent on pre-advisement. Transferology enables students to self-serve, reducing call and email volume. More time can be devoted to proactively evaluating courses and other duties.
